Breaking News! The best websites for getting the latest news

 Anyone a news junkie out there?  I am certainly one of them.  If you find yourself opening multiple tabs and viewing multiple news sites all at the same time across multiple monitors then you are a definite news junkie!  Well...don't despair!  I am about to feed that habit and get you even more revved up for finding that late breaking news story that noobody at the water cooler has seen or heard about yet!

Please keep in mind this isn't a contest or a statistical chart breaking down the differences between these sites. This is just my own personal opinion of websites that I enjoy scanning for breaking news that is informative and useful to me.

Two my top sites are news.google.com and news.yahoo.com  These two sites feed in streams of news articles coming in from a whole variety of websites.  I never pass these two sites up when I am trying to get the latest news off the web.

www.drudgereport.com   Often Drudge tends to start the dust storm on a story.  This has happened on quite a few occasions.  Huge amount of information on this site including a huge list of other news sites at the bottom of the main page.  Red bolded news articles are either new or emphasized as being extra important news articles.  The bigger the font, the bigger the story!!!

www.abcnews.com   Another great site that leans liberal in my opinion.  Usually is right up there in announcing breaking news very quickly.  Covers all the major news categories.

www.cbsnews.com   Colorful, exciting, vividly displayed news.  Eye candy news!  Excellent site that most everyone is familiar with.  Breaking news is always reported here first. 

www.msnbc.com  Well known news site that does a great job reporting the breaking news stories.  Almost always one of the first to break a story....

www.foxnews.com  Conservative news site covering all the breaking news both international and domestic USA.

www.cnn.com  Mainstream media news site that is very popular.  You can't pass up the Anderson Cooper sub pages.

www.slate.com  Political news site with very in depth reporting.  Leans liberal.

www.newsmax.com  Political news along with international and USA news.  Leans conservative.

www.hotair.com  More political news leaning conservative....

www.csmonitor.com   One of my keepers for in depth international news stories.  They go into detail on the latest world events and news.  Well organized and clean site.

www.latimes.com  Another newspaper gone web.  local LA area coverage along wtih us and international news.   

www.washingtonpost.com   Superior reporting on this website.  Excellent source for breaking news.  Highly recommended news site on the web.

www.myway.com  A very unique website that is 'work friendly'  no ads, just text.  You can customize your news feeds as well to your liking.  A definite must!

www.reuters.com  International news and with a Euro news focus

www.usatoday.com  Well rounded and glossy interface news site.  Mainly focused on US news and business and finance.

www.news.bbc.co.uk  BBC News European news stories and international news.  Very good on keeping on top of breaking news.  One of my first sites to see info on breaking news.

www.worldnews.com  World News coverage with excellent breaking news coverage

www.consortiumnews.com  Independent investigative news site with detailed stories.

www.news.com.au  Australia news stories and world news coverage. 

www.atimes.com  Asia times.  Asian news and international news.  Lots of articles written from countering views and different perspective than westerner news.

www.jpost.com  Middle East news covering the entire middle east region of the world.

www.haaretz.com  Israeli news website with lots of Middle East breaking news.

www.debka.com  International news & breaking news headlines.

www.financialtimes.com Business, international finance, and money policy news.

www.nytimes.com  Lots of business, politics, and USA eastern region news.
